Real-Life Struggles: WC Exposes Westside Connection Drama Rooted in Personal Lives

WC has acknowledged Ice Cube’s disinterest in reuniting the Westside Connection, citing tensions that arose behind the scenes.

In a recent interview with TMZ published on Thursday (July 13), Cube decisively dismissed any possibility of the trio getting back together. When asked about fans’ disappointment over the members not resolving their differences, Cube expressed his indifference, stating, “I don’t care about how they feel.”

On the same day, WC shared his perspective on the situation, which primarily stems from unresolved issues between the former N.W.A rapper and Mack 10.

“While music is one aspect, the real-life dynamics behind the music are another,” WC stated. “If there’s no harmony, there’s no music.”

Despite expressing his love for both rappers, WC clarified that he wouldn’t involve himself in mediating a resolution between Cube and Mack. He explained, “I cannot compel anyone to do something they don’t want to do.”

Nonetheless, WC maintains a sense of hope that the West Coast collective may one day reunite and perform together, under the condition that Cube and Mack resolve their differences. The entire conversation can be watched in the video below.

Following Ice Cube’s recent appearance on The Breakfast Club, WC responded to his comments, indicating that a reunion with Ice Cube and Mack 10 is highly unlikely.

During the interview, Cube straightforwardly stated, “Probably not,” when asked about the possibility of the group reuniting. He made it clear that he had no interest in pursuing another Westside Connection project. When Charlamagne Tha God brought up Mack 10’s previous remarks in 2020 about reuniting and sharing his side of their dispute multiple times, Cube responded by saying, “Of course he does [get to share his side]. I don’t want to talk about it, to be honest, because he knows the truth.”

WC’s response further emphasizes the existing rift and suggests that resolving their issues and reuniting as a group is unlikely.

During an interview with the Murder Master Music Show in August 2020, Mack 10 was questioned about the possibility of a Westside Connection reunion and what it would take to make it happen. The seasoned rapper expressed his willingness to reconnect with his former group members for another album, but he placed the responsibility on Cube to initiate the process.

“That’s the question everyone wants to know, bro!” Mack 10 responded. “I don’t know, man. People ask me that, and I genuinely don’t know what it would take. I’m ready, and I’m sure Dub [WC] is ready. Someone probably needs to ask Cube what it would take because I honestly don’t know.”

He went on to mention that fans often approach him, even in everyday situations like being stuck at a red light, and inquire about the possibility of another Westside Connection album. Mack 10 consistently gives the same answer: he doesn’t know. He admitted that he hadn’t spoken to Cube in 10-15 years as of 2020.

The last album released by Westside Connection was Terrorist Threats in 2003, and since then, there has been no collaboration or communication among the group members.
