Charlamagne Tha God Responds to Drake’s Remarks About Pusha T & Pharrell

During a segment of The Breakfast Club, Charlamagne delved into Drake’s latest feature on Travis Scott’s album “Utopia.” While sharing his perspective on the track titled “Meltdown,” he speculated about the reasons behind Drake’s choice to direct his attention towards Pharrell.
In his verse on the song, Drake delivers strong lines, expressing his disdain for spinning narratives and cutting through the facade. He mentions melting down the chains he purchased from someone associated with Pharrell, seemingly indicating that he no longer cares about the history or legacy tied to those chains. Additionally, Drake points out that since V (likely referencing Virgil Abloh) is no longer around, the members he once knew have abandoned Louis Vuitton, signifying a change in their allegiances. The rapper makes it clear that he isn’t interested in repairing relationships or sparing anyone from his unfiltered honesty.

On his show, Charlamagne expressed his opinion that Drake often tries to sound tough in his lyrics, but it doesn’t always come across that way. He playfully mocked some of Drake’s lines before bringing up the past feud between Drake and Pusha T, particularly the diss directed at Drake’s close collaborator, 40.

Charlamagne speculated that Drake’s choice to target Pharrell in his song might be his way of seeking revenge for the previous altercation with Pusha T. He suggested that if Drake wants to confront Pusha T again, he should arrange a face-to-face meeting. Charlamagne even hinted that Drake might still owe Pusha T something from their past conflict.

Regarding the necklace formerly owned by Pharrell, Drake was seen wearing it in the “Jumbotron Shit Poppin” music video. The necklace was later put up for sale at the Joopiter auction last year. In the song, Drake also issues a veiled threat, mentioning that Vogue was suing, and if not for that, he would have been in Paris dealing with some serious matters.

Overall, Charlamagne’s analysis offers a playful take on Drake’s lyrics and speculates about the possible motivations behind his choice of words in the song.

After his featured appearance on “Utopia,” Drake is gearing up to release his own album titled “For All the Dogs” in the upcoming weeks. During one of his recent shows on the “It’s All a Blur Tour,” he hinted at the album’s release timeframe, mentioning that it will likely drop in approximately “two weeks or so.” Fans are eagerly anticipating the new project, and Drake’s announcement has only heightened the excitement surrounding his forthcoming album.
